Sheng’ao Tianfei Palace at South Gate is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zhao’an County.

Constructed in the Qing Dynasty, Sheng’ao Tianfei Palace at South Gate is situated outside Xuanzhong City in Nangate Village, Meiling Town, and is classified as an ancient building.

On June 28, 2016, Sheng’ao Tianfei Palace at South Gate was listed as part of the 16th batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Zhao’an County.

Protected area: extends 80 meters east, west, south, and north beyond the temple walls.

Nangate Village: Nangate Village is located 6 kilometers directly south of the Meiling Town government seat. To the east it connects with Dongmen, to the southwest it borders Zhao’an Bay, and to the north it reaches Chishi Bay. It includes two natural villages, Nangate and Dijiu, with the village committee stationed in Nangate. The village is built along the coast in a trapezoidal shape. The population consists of mixed surnames Wu, Lin, and Shen, with 380 households and 1,589 people, all Han ethnicity speaking Southern Min dialect, organized into three villager groups. The local economy combines fishing and farming. There are 404 mu of arable land, including 69 mu of paddy fields and 335 mu of dry land. Crops include rice, sweet potato, and peanuts.
