The cliff inscriptions on Guolao Mountain at Nangate date back to the Ming Dynasty. They are located on Guolao Mountain within Xuanzhong City in Nancun Village, Meiling Town, and are categorized as cliff inscriptions.

On June 28, 2016, they were designated as part of the 16th batch of County-level Cultural Relics Protection Units in Zhao'an County.

Protected area: an extension of 1 kilometer east, west, south, and north beyond the mountain peak.

Nancun Village: Nancun Village is situated 6 kilometers directly south of the Meiling Town government seat. It borders Dongmen to the east, faces Zhao'an Bay to the southwest, and extends to Chishi Bay to the north. The village includes two natural settlements: Nancun and Dijiu, with the village committee based in Nancun. The settlement is built along the coast in a trapezoidal layout. The population is of Han ethnicity, speaks Southern Min dialect, and consists of mixed surnames including Wu, Lin, and Shen. There are 380 households and 1,589 residents, organized into three villager groups. The local economy combines fishing and farming. Cultivated land covers 404 mu, including 69 mu of paddy fields and 335 mu of dry farmland. Crops include rice, sweet potato, and peanuts.
