Hejin Festival Frost-Resisting Archway

The Hejin Festival Frost-Resisting Archway is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zhao'an County.

The Hejin Festival Frost-Resisting Archway dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It is located on the left side of a water weir in the northeast of Xihe Operation Area, Hongxing Township, and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On June 28, 2016, the Hejin Festival Frost-Resisting Archway was announced as part of the 16th batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Zhao'an County.

Protected area: an extension of 100 meters east, west, south, and north beyond the archway itself.

Hongxing Township: Hongxing Township is located in the central-northern part of Zhao'an County and is a mountainous region. It is approximately 26 kilometers from the county seat. To the northeast, it borders Yunxiao County; to the southeast, it neighbors Jinxing Township; to the west, it connects with Taiping Town; to the south, it adjoins Xitan and Jianshe townships; and to the north, it links with Guanbei Town. The northeastern part is shielded by the Wushan Mountain Range, covering an area of 131 square kilometers. Hongxing Township is the core area of both the “China’s Plum Capital” and “China’s Cross-Strait Selenium Valley.” The township governs 8 administrative villages and 7 operation areas, with a total population of 16,259.

In the Ming Dynasty, Hongxing Township belonged to the 11th Subdistrict of the 2nd District. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was part of the Meilin and Longdun Protection Zones of the 2nd District, along with a portion of the Dabu Protection Zone.
