Lion Temple

The Lion Temple is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zhao'an County.

The Lion Temple dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is located at the southern foot of Hongzhu Mountain in Meibei Village, Meizhou Township. It is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On April 17, 2013, it was designated as part of the 14th batch of County-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units in Zhao'an County.

Protected area: 50 meters southeast, 150 meters west, and 400 meters north of the temple.

Meibei Village: Meibei Village is primarily located inside the north gate of Meizhou Township’s fortress, extending east to Meizhou Village; south to Meixi and Meinan Villages; and west to Meixi Village. With the growing economic prosperity and evolving demands of the times, some villagers have expanded their residences outward, settling in areas such as Weidai, Shierjun, and Beixin District. To better serve the community and meet the development needs of a new socialist countryside, the village-level organizational activity center was also completed in the Beixin District in 2007.
