Ciling Nunnery

Ciling Nunnery is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zhao’an County.

Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, Ciling Nunnery is located in Meizhou Village, Meizhou Township, and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On April 17, 2013, it was announced as part of the 14th batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Zhao’an County.

Protected area: 80 meters east of the nunnery, 2 meters west, 70 meters south, and the northern boundary is adjacent to shops.

Meizhou Township: Located in the eastern part of Zhao’an, Meizhou Township lies between the Changshan Overseas Chinese Economic Development Zone in Fujian Province and the Zhao’an Jindu Industrial Concentration Zone. It is one of the major overseas Chinese hometowns in southern Fujian, covering a total area of 52.4 square kilometers. The township administers seven administrative villages: Meidong, Meixi, Meinan, Meibei, Meizhou, Meixi, and Meishan, as well as the Meizhou Overseas Chinese Farm, with a total population of 20,722 (including 1,367 returned overseas Chinese and displaced compatriots at the farm).
