Longxing An

Longxing An is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Longxing An is located in Hechun Village, Makeng Township, Hua’an County, dating from the Yuan to the Qing dynasties.

Description: Also known as Longxing Hall. Constructed in the 22nd year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1285), it was repaired during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It covers an area of approximately 500 square meters, with a building area of 130 square meters. Oriented southeast to northwest, it features five bays in width and a single-eave hip-and-gable roof; the central and side bays have two sets of raised-beam wooden frames, while the end bays have two sets of through-tenon wooden frames, using large timber materials and featuring simple construction techniques. The hall contains three stone-built sumeru pedestals for altars, with inscribed stone slabs bearing the marking “X Yuan Fourteenth Year,” and it preserves three early stone incense burners. The associated cultural relic, Heshan Bridge (also called Bairi Bridge), was first built in the 44th year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1779). It is a single-arch stone bridge, 35 meters long, and beside the bridge remains a fragmentary stele from the 44th year of the Qianlong era (1779) inscribed with the “Heshan Bridge Record.”

In 2018, Longxing An was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Hechun Village: Located in Makeng Township in the northwestern part of Hua’an County, Fujian Province, Hechun Village is the largest village in the township, with 326 households, over 1,300 residents, and 36 Party members. It spans a total area of 25,023 mu and is the highest-altitude administrative village in all of Zhangzhou City, sitting at an elevation of 1,030 meters, with Niugulun Mountain reaching 1,363.2 meters in height, earning it the nickname “Tibet of Southern Fujian.” It is recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural village, a provincial-level ecological village, and one of the top ten most beautiful villages in Zhangzhou. 1·2 Location and Natural Landscape
