The Xinxu Ferry Architectural Complex is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Xinxu Ferry Architectural Complex is located in Xinxu Village, Xinxu Town, Hua’an County, dating from the Qing Dynasty to the Republican era.

Description: Originally built in the Tang Dynasty, the complex has undergone repairs across various dynasties. The surviving structures were mostly rebuilt during the Qing and Republican periods. It consists of the ferry terminal, old dock, harbor station, vertical street (Victory Road), horizontal street (Chang’an Road), and the former site of the Mazu Temple. The ferry terminal was constructed using natural riverbanks reinforced with stone. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has served as an important water transport hub in southwestern Fujian. During the Republican period, it remained the starting point for downstream passenger and cargo transport along the middle reaches of the Jiulong River’s North Branch. The vertical street (Victory Road) and horizontal street (Chang’an Road) are each approximately 200 meters long, lined with arcade-style buildings made of brick and wood or earth and wood—commonly known as "bamboo pole houses." Historically, these streets were bustling with numerous shops and thrived commercially.

Protected area: With the harbor station as the center point, the protected zone extends 124 meters eastward, 220 meters westward, 198 meters southward, and 169 meters northward.

In 2018, the Xinxu Ferry Architectural Complex was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
