The Battle Site of the Gui'de Township Office is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Battle Site of the Gui'de Township Office is located in Gao'an Village, Gao'an Town, Hua'an County.

In May 1949, in accordance with directives from the Communist Party of China’s Southern Fujian Committee, over 500 soldiers from five companies of the 1st and 2nd Regiments under the 8th Detachment (i.e., the Southern Fujian Detachment) of the Guangdong–Gan Border Region Column of the People’s Liberation Army marched into Hua'an to combat reactionary forces, expand the army’s influence, boost public confidence in victory, and prepare to connect with the 4th Regiment in Anxi for military reorganization. Led by Detachment Commander Li Zhongxian, Deputy Commander Wu Yang, and Deputy Political Commissar Lu Yan, the troops set out from Jingdu in Nanjing, passed through Gui'de Township (now Gao'an Town) in Hua'an, and launched an attack on the enemy-held Gui'de Township Office with overwhelming force. The defending reactionary militia, terrified at the approach, immediately abandoned resistance, surrendered their weapons, and the troops secured their first victory upon entering Hua'an. Subsequently, after clearing the battlefield, the 1st and 2nd Regiments of the 8th Detachment turned to attack the Gui'de grain depot. After slight resistance, the defending militia also surrendered, resulting in the complete annihilation of over 20 soldiers from the security forces and joint defense teams. After capturing the depot, the PLA distributed the stored grain to local impoverished residents and actively promoted revolutionary ideals among the people, educating the former militia, thereby achieving both military and political victories. After resting in Gui'de, the troops continued on to Xia Zhang to engage in further combat.

The original site of the Battle of Gui'de Township Office was the Houde Building of the Que family, constructed during the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty. It faces east and is situated to the west, covering a construction area of 1,438 square meters, with a layout of two courtyards and five bays, three stories at the back and two at the front, connected by corridors at both ends. It is a square-shaped earthen building comprising over 30 rooms. The main structure of the building is well preserved.
