The former residence of You Weixin is a classic red tourism destination.

The former residence of veteran guerrilla fighter You Weixin is located at No. 14, Shangke Group, Liangpu Village, Huafeng Town, Hua’an County.

You Weixin (1909–1949), also known as You Tinglan, was from Tailian Village, Hukeng Township, Yongding County, Longyan. In 1928, he participated in the Chendong Uprising led by Lu Zhaoxi, and later served as the company commander and battalion commander of the Daxi Red Guards. He actively expanded his forces, led his troops in battles such as the assault on Zhongchuan, and became a key target of enemy pursuit. In 1933, due to the “Purge of the Social Democrats” campaign in western Fujian, he was forced to leave Yongding. Disguised as an herbal medicine peddler, he traveled to Shantou, Guangdong, to search for the Party organization. In 1938, he began activities in Xiandu, Hua’an County, before relocating and settling in Liangpu, Liangcun. Using a traditional Chinese medicine shop as a front, he skillfully carried out revolutionary work. During his time in Hua’an, he actively promoted the revolution among local residents, exposed the oppressive rule of the Nationalist government, mobilized the surrounding masses, developed underground Party members, and worked diligently to build up revolutionary strength in anticipation of the founding of New China. However, due to the rampant anti-communist forces in Hua’an prior to liberation, the unfavorable balance of power between the enemy and us had not yet shifted, and he was betrayed by informants Ke Shuijin and Ke Youlan. On the third day of the fifth lunar month in 1949, Comrade You Weixin was arrested by the puppet township head Huang Jinhui and subsequently buried alive in Puweimei, Xinxu Town. In April 1985, he was officially recognized as a veteran guerrilla fighter by the Office for Resolving Legacy Issues of Underground Party Members under the Hua’an County Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The former residence of veteran guerrilla fighter You Weixin was originally a private house owned by the Huang family. After it collapsed, it was rebuilt as a residential home. This single-story, flat-roofed house covers an area of 350 square meters, faces east with a west orientation, has five bays and two courtyards, with one wing room on each side. It is currently inhabited by descendants of martyr You Weixin.
