Hu'an Revolutionary Monument

The Hu'an Revolutionary Monument is a classic site on China’s red tourism routes.

The Hu'an Revolutionary Monument is located atop Zhai'zai Mountain in Caoban Village, Huafeng Town, Hu'an County.

On November 18, 1949, Hu'an was peacefully liberated and a people's government was established. Throughout the revolutionary process, countless dedicated individuals devoted themselves tirelessly to the liberation, construction, development, and progress of Hu'an—some even shedding blood and sacrificing their lives—to achieve immortal and glorious accomplishments, writing a new chapter in history. To promote the revolutionary spirit of our forebears and inspire future generations to carry on the mission, the Hu'an County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Hu'an County began constructing the Hu'an Revolutionary Monument in November 1990.

The Hu'an Revolutionary Monument covers an area of 2 mu, with a built-up area of 400 square meters. The main monument faces south and stands 16.28 meters tall, with an inscription reading “Hu'an Revolutionary Monument” penned by a former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The front of the monument base features an inscription authored by Wang Fuxing, the former County Party Secretary, and Sun Kongqiang, the former County Magistrate. The back of the base is inscribed with the names of 71 martyrs: Lin Danshui, Chen Shangshi, Chen Dengshou, Chen Yuanye, Chen Mingxing, Lü Xing, Chen Quanshui, Cai Tiesui, Lin Shumu, Lin Wenru, Lin Demu, Huang Jinzhi, Guo Qinghai, Zhang Yucheng, Lin Chunsheng, Huang Rengui, Chen Mantang, Huang Qingsong, Zou Jinxiu, Yang Wenyu, Li Taiping, Chen Peitian, Tang Changshen, Guo Shuiquan, Lin Ouzhou, Zou Zihan, Zheng Guoshun, Li Guofang, Tang Jinshui, Chen Quanzhou, Lin Shuichen, Cai Risheng, Zheng Wend, Zheng Tianfa, Lin Tu, Xie Quanxing, Chen Weiqing, Cai [surname], Zheng Fucai, Li Meizhou, Yang Xiangmai, Lin Chanshui, Huang Muxing, Zou Erzi, Lin Kaichun, Zeng Haitian, Li Guilin, Zou Zhiyi, Huang Shuijin, Yang Shanshui, Que Huotu, Lin Peixin, Yang Chunfeng, Zhang Yizi, Jiang Kaiwan, Zhuang Fengqi, Yang Xin, Li Shichen, Yang Shijin, Chen Wenbo, Chang Wuyuan, Jin Shaobao, Zhang Shujun, Liu Ligui, Li Zhengsheng, Zhou Yuchang, Zhang Juncheng, Chen E, Yang Benqing, You Kongjin, Yang Meiyin.

On July 11, 1997, the Hu'an Revolutionary Monument was designated as a patriotism education base in Zhangzhou City by the Zhangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Zhangzhou Municipal People's Government.
