Eastern Anhui Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

Originally named Bantha Martyrs' Cemetery, Eastern Anhui Martyrs' Cemetery is under the jurisdiction of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Laian County, Anhui Province. In October 2009, upon the proposal of the Anhui Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and with the approval of the State Council, it was renamed the Eastern Anhui Martyrs' Cemetery. The historically famous Battle of Bantha took place here. The cemetery was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died in the Battle of Bantha and during the War of Resistance against Japan. It is located in Bantha Town, approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Laian County, at the border between Anhui and Jiangsu provinces. Situated in the northwest of Bantha Town, on Toudaoguang Mountain—one of the main battlefields of the War of Resistance—the entire cemetery covers an area of 260 acres.

Construction of the Eastern Anhui Martyrs' Cemetery began in March 1944 but was halted due to the withdrawal of the New Fourth Army to the north. The project resumed in 1958, and the site was subsequently opened to the public. In 1999, it was designated as an "Anhui Provincial Key Martyrs' Memorial Building Protection Unit" by the Anhui Provincial Government; in 2004, it was named a "National Defense Education Base" by the Anhui Provincial Military District; in 2006, it was approved as a "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit" by the State Council. In 2008, it was recommended by the Anhui Provincial Propaganda Department and the Anhui Provincial Military District for nomination as a "National Patriotic Education Base" and a "National National Defense Education Base." In March 2009, it was named a "National Key Martyrs' Building Protection Unit" by the State Council. Currently, the Eastern Anhui Martyrs' Cemetery is one of the province’s outstanding red tourism destinations and a well-known patriotic education base in East China.

Bantha Town: In the eastern part of Anhui Province, there is a piece of land shaped like a gourd that extends into Jiangsu Province. The gourd’s “head” is Tianchang City in Anhui, while the “neck” is Bantha Town in Laian County, our province.

With its long and glorious revolutionary history and strong comprehensive town strength, Bantha Town is one of the two deputy-county-level key established towns in Laian County (the other being Chengguan Town). Located 30 kilometers north of Laian County, the town borders Tianchang to the east, Mingguang to the west, Luhe to the south, and Xuyi to the north.
