Shunge Mountain Scenic Area is located within Shunshan Township, approximately 11 to 15 kilometers north of Laicheng. Stretching about 4.5 kilometers in length and 2.5 kilometers in width from east to west, the mountain is said to be where the legendary Emperor Shun once farmed and sang duets with woodcutters, hence its name “Shunge Mountain,” also known as “Shungeng Mountain.” It is one of the ancient ten scenic spots of Laian, famed as the “Shunge Woodcutter’s Joy.”
