Zunshe Buddhist Temple

Zunshe Buddhist Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Zunshe Buddhist Temple is located at the site of Da’an Mountain in Laian County, Anhui Province. Other relics still standing at the site include a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree and Guanyin Spring. The stone stele was built and inscribed by Cao Yin (grandfather of Cao Xueqin, author of *Dream of the Red Chamber*), who served as the Jiangning Textile Commissioner at the time. It records the scale and rise and fall of the temple. The stele is approximately 2 meters high, 76 cm wide, and 17 cm thick. Its top is engraved with the Buddhist phrase “Pu Men Shi Guan” (The Universal Gate Reveals the Vision). The body of the stele is embedded in a solid base. The front side bears the *Zunshe Temple Stele Inscription*, written by Cao Yin, grandfather of *Dream of the Red Chamber* author Cao Xueqin, on July 16, 1722 (the 61st year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty). The reverse side features the *Supplementary Record of Events*.

Protected area: Centered around the main hall of the Zunshe Buddhist Temple ruins, extending 50 meters east, 180 meters south, 170 meters west, and 40 meters north.

Construction control zone: A 50-meter buffer zone on the east, south, west, and north sides beyond the protected area.
