The Wuqing District Martyrs' Cemetery serves as a patriotic education base.

The Wuqing District Martyrs' Cemetery was first built in 1956 and was originally located on Tayuan Road in Yangcun Town. In 1958, it was relocated to Jichang Road in Yangcun Town. In September 2008, the cemetery was rebuilt at a new site.

The reconstructed martyrs' cemetery covers an area of 27,000 square meters, including a building area of 2,600 square meters, a green space area of 12,000 square meters, and paved areas for squares, roads, and the grounds totaling 12,000 square meters. The cemetery includes a Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument with an inscription by Mao Zedong, a memorial plaza, a martyrs' tomb area, and the Wuqing District Revolutionary History Exhibition Hall. The exhibition hall showcases scenes of soldiers fearlessly sacrificing themselves and fighting bravely during different historical periods, including the Chinese Civil War, the War of Resistance against Japan, the Liberation War, and the Korean War. The martyrs' tomb area is the resting place of the remains of 74 named martyrs and 62 unnamed martyrs. The tomb for the unnamed martyrs features a circular white marble wreath-shaped gravestone, with a five-pointed star in the center surrounded by 62 flowers and framed by pine and cypress leaves. This symbolizes that the 62 martyrs were closely united around the Party during their lives, and their noble virtues remain evergreen like the pines and cypresses.

The reconstructed cemetery has a harmonious and unified overall layout, with planted ornamental trees such as pines and poplars, as well as lawns, creating a garden-style patriotic education base that boasts flowers in three seasons, evergreen foliage throughout the year, a pleasant landscape, and a beautiful environment.

The cemetery is recognized as a Patriotic Education Base for Caring about the Next Generation in Tianjin, a Patriotic and Military Support Education Base in Tianjin, and a garden-style institution. In 2002, it was designated as a Tianjin Patriotic Education Base by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
