Introduction: The Wuliu Provincial Scenic Area is located in Jiagou Town, about 30 kilometers north of Suzhou City. Situated at the center of Xuzhou, Huaibei, and Suzhou, the area spans 35 square kilometers. It is known for its “green mountains, clear waters, spectacular caves, magical springs, and fragrant rice.” The scenic area is surrounded by mountains on the south, west, and north sides, features a diverse range of plant life, and enjoys a pleasant climate.

　The Longquan Lake in the main scenic area features rippling blue waters with sweet-tasting water, bordered by weeping willows, dragon cypresses, and cedar trees, creating an exceptionally beautiful landscape. The Pan Mountain Cave within the scenic area contains uniquely shaped stalagmites and stone pillars that spark the imagination. The Wuliu area is rich in mineral springs, including the famous He Spring, Longquan, and Pearl Spring, all of which are high-quality mineral waters. These premium mineral waters nurture the renowned Jiagou Fragrant Rice, which was served as “tribute rice” to the imperial court from the Song Dynasty through the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has long been praised with the saying, “When one family cooks rice, ten households smell the fragrance; when ten families cook rice, the whole village is filled with aroma.”

In addition to its stunning natural scenery, the Wuliu Scenic Area also features numerous historical and cultural sites such as Longquan Temple, Dafang Temple, the Min Ancestral Hall, Shang Dynasty cultural ruins, and ancient Han Dynasty tombs, making it a rare and outstanding tourist destination in northern Anhui.

Jiagou Town: Established during the Han Dynasty, Jiagou Town has a history of over 2,000 years. To the south, there is a mountain shaped like a snake, and to the north, one resembling a turtle. Legend has it that a turtle and snake once fought a fierce battle here, creating the valley, hence the name. National Highway 206 and the Jinpu Railway run through the town, providing extremely convenient transportation.
