Kaler - Show the Color
Located in Banqiao and newly opened in October, “Kaler - Show the Color” features poolside seating, neon light strips, marble elements… its aesthetic decor gives off an instant Seoul-vibe. The café mainly serves sweet and savory brunches, burgers, grilled toast, and omelet wraps. Among them, the must-try “Pink Latte,” made with 70% strawberry milk and 30% espresso, is one of Kaler’s popular drinks.

Dangle Coffee
Although it hasn’t been open for long, Dangle Coffee has already built up quite a following in the Banqiao area. Located on the corner of Guangzheng Street, the café boasts a retro interior design — from the floor tiles and furniture to the decorations, all radiate a warm and nostalgic vibe. Although it’s a brunch spot, Dangle Coffee serves hearty portions. Their signature dish, creamy seafood stew with fish and shrimp, comes with freshly baked puff pastry and a generous serving of seafood, offering both satiety and deliciousness.

Also located on Guangzheng Street, L’idée Café is decorated primarily in white tile and wood, accented with hanging dried flowers that add a touch of romance to the fresh and clean space. Merci cafe
Located in an alleyway within a Banqiao residential area, Merci Cafe is the first outlet of the Merci series. Founded by two women in their 20s, 起点Cafe (Begin Again Cafe) is known for its hearty brunches, which come not only with the main dish but also include salad and fruit for an even more filling meal. Breakfast just tastes more Taiwanese when eaten at the market. At 《湾岛，呷早顿》 in Banqiao’s Wenchang Street, besides classic English-style brunch, the highlight is the variety of burgers and sandwiches made with local ingredients—like basil stir-fried three-cup chicken burger and organic rose cherry duck breast burger, both bursting with Taiwanese flavor. Under Mega 50, three restaurants are launching the “New Taipei Year-End Feast” from November 24 to January 1, 2018, in sync with Christmas Town. Themed around premium ingredients from New Taipei, Chef Su Quan-hui of Wangyuelou has created a 6-course set meal with one dessert, featuring Gongliao abalone seafood hotpot, Tieguanyin-smoked tilapia, black garlic fermented soybean sauce pomfret, braised chicken in soy sauce, sautéed small squid from Ruifang, butter cabbage from Linkou in broth, and coconut tree dessert.

Asia 49
Special dishes designed by Executive Chef Huang Yin-ren from Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Tainan, featuring a selection of Southeast Asian-inspired seasonal dishes. Together with Asia 49’s Sous Chef Yang Nengpei (Ah Pei), they present six dishes: Filipino crispy shrimp, sambal pomfret, Thai-style stuffed crab, squid ink stuffed squid, curry fish slices, and roast pork with pumpkin rice noodles.

Xiang Niu Er Guan Banqiao Branch uses daily fresh wagyu beef delivered straight from Tainan, with each cow having an identification number and production traceability. In addition to hot pot, they also serve braised dishes, stir-fries, grilled items, and beef noodles. The broth used for the hot pot is based on beef bones, slow-simmered for over 12 hours, then further simmered with fresh fruits and vegetables for another 3 hours, with absolutely no artificial seasonings added. In addition to à la carte options, the restaurant also offers set meals for two.
