Good news！The Lienchiang County Government has decided to implement the “Dongma-Dongtai” passenger ferry route starting April 1 this year, one month earlier than originally scheduled. It is understood that the county government has been planning the “Dongma-Dongtai” route for some time. Taking into account the convenience of local residents and related tourism planning, after multiple meetings, it was confirmed that the route would be launched ahead of schedule, with the existing Taima Ferry operating on this line.

The “Dongma-Dongtai” route refers to the itinerary Keelung – Dongyin – Matsu (Nangan) – Dongyin – Keelung, which will be much more convenient for residents of Dongyin. This year, the Matsu sea routes will see the addition of two new passenger ferries, the “Donghai Pearl” and the “Taima Star,” while the current Taima Ferry will be retired. The Donghai Pearl can carry 190 passengers, one car, and 10 motorcycles, and will primarily serve transportation between Nangan and Juguang in Matsu. The new Taima Ferry, dubbed the “Taima Star,” which will succeed the current Taima Ferry, can accommodate 646 passengers and 28 cars, and will feature a restaurant, cinema, chess room, concession stand, infirmary, and coffee lounge, among other amenities. However, as the ship is currently under intensive construction, the inaugural sailing date has yet to be announced.
