Recently, Banqiao District in New Taipei City has seen a brunch boom. The popular spot “Good Morning Breakfast” is always fully booked on weekends, prompting the opening of its second branch. Not far from Good Morning Breakfast is an Italian-style brunch café called “Flip the Table – TurningTable BRUNCH.” In addition to sandwiches and burgers, this place also offers paninis and the rarely seen Italian frittata, which is actually their signature dish.
Although it’s an Italian-style brunch, the prices at Flip the Table are quite reasonable. Sandwiches start at NT$55, paninis at NT$75, and burgers at NT$80. As for the popular Frittata, the price is under NT$200 (includes toast, salad, and milk tea). Flipping through the menu, you’ll find many fun dish names, such as “Messy – Ugly Duckling Panini,” “Oh My God – Fried Chicken Triple Sandwich,” “Stomach, Do You Eat Fish?”, and “Super Annoyed – Thick Onion Beef Burger.” It’s said that the “Super Annoyed – Thick Onion Beef Burger” got its name because the beef is hand-pounded, which is exhausting for the chefs and often leaves them annoyed — but it also results in a rich, tender texture.

The popular Frittata is a traditional Italian home-cooked dish. Store manager Summer explained that it’s made by mixing eggs, spinach, potatoes, and other ingredients, then baking them in the oven before topping them with greens and other options (including tuna, Thai basil chicken, or bacon flavors). Because it’s baked in the oven, the texture is crispy on the outside and juicy and soft on the inside. Paired with a red wine vinegar salad, it offers a delightful contrast of flavors. However, Summer reminds customers that since the frittata is baked with a bit of oil, it’s best enjoyed hot — it can feel a bit greasy when cold.

Since the head chef has worked at Italian restaurants, Flip the Table also offers pasta and risotto, priced between NT$180 and NT$240. Summer noted that their risotto is cooked with raw rice and ingredients together, so customers might initially think the rice is undercooked — but that’s actually how authentic Italian risotto is supposed to taste. The same goes for the pasta, which may seem a bit firm but isn’t undercooked. Because everything is made to order, risotto and pasta require some waiting time. Additionally, Flip the Table’s handmade fruit cakes are very popular, with some customers even calling to place advance orders.
Most uniquely, Flip the Table also offers private dining and catering services. The minimum charge for private dining is NT$500 per person, featuring a set menu of Italian dishes (though it’s not fixed). Currently, private dining and catering services are only available in the evening. Flip the Table accepts reservations on weekdays but operates on a first-come, first-served basis on weekends.
