Fengzuizi Village Scenic Area

Fengzuizi Village is a natural village in Qinji Town, Yuhui District. It is the birthplace of Feng Guopei, a renowned performer of Flower Drum Lantern dance and a national first-class actor. In October 2004 and April 2005, it was respectively designated by the state as China’s Original Ecology Protection Village for Flower Drum Lantern and China’s No.1 Village for Flower Drum Lantern. The art of Flower Drum Lantern in this village has a long historical origin, featuring a systematic and complete performance format, rich content, graceful dance movements, and a unique cultural style of the Han ethnic group with strong local characteristics.

Qinji Town

Since the mid-Qing Dynasty to the present, the Feng School of Flower Drum Lantern has been passed down through eight generations. The village has a total of 660 households and a population of 2,900, with nearly everyone able to perform the Flower Drum Lantern. In 2006, it won the championship at the CCTV Television Dance Competition without dispute, making Flower Drum Lantern the top cultural tourism brand in Bengbu City. Currently, the Flower Drum Lantern Heritage Institute, performance square, and other tourist facilities have been opened to the public.
