Yangliuqing Ming-Qing Street (also known as the Folk Culture Tourism Street) is located in the center of the Yangliuqing Folk Tourism Area in Xiqing District, Tianjin. It borders Liukou Road to the east, neighbors the Shi Family Courtyard to the west, faces the Imperial River scenic area to the south, and adjoins the upcoming Phase II Classical Folk Plaza of Ming-Qing Street to the north. Ming-Qing Street (Phase I) covers an area of 12 mu, with a construction area of 10,000 square meters, stretching 156 meters from east to west and 50 meters from north to south. Its layout follows the style of traditional northern Chinese commercial streets, combining the long-street format with a gourd-shaped architectural design. The street is higher in the east and lower in the west, with the overall structure being mostly two stories and partially three. Designed and built according to the “Ming-Qing Construction Methods,” the buildings feature brick-and-wood structures, gray bricks, and gray tiles with precisely aligned joints, creating a well-proportioned architectural ensemble. Except for the large-style roofing at the eastern and western ends, the rest adopt the small-style approach. The street width ranges from less than ten meters at its widest to seven meters at its narrowest, featuring a zigzag layout symbolizing wealth accumulation. Drawing inspiration from Ming-style architecture, 60% of the buildings are colorfully painted, while the rest retain the Qing-style aesthetic with brown-toned walls and purple-painted window frames. The completion and opening of Yangliuqing Ming-Qing Street undoubtedly adds another attractive tourist destination to the beautiful city of Tianjin.
