Tianjin Ancient Canal Scenic Park
Introduction Situated in the southern part of Yangliuqing Town, this section of the old Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs from west to east in an "M"-shaped pattern. A newly excavated canal connects with the old one, forming a circular waterway with a total length of 4.1 kilometers, stretching east from Erjing Road to South 14th Street. The old canal has been appropriately widened, with the top width of the channel reaching 40 meters. This not only provides a sense of open sightlines but also ensures an appropriate spatial scale between the water body and the buildings on both banks. The entire scenic area features eight major attractions, including an artificial lake connected to the canal, with the Wenchang Pavilion situated on a peninsula in the lake. Heading east leads to the newly built Ming-Qing Street, which ends at the Shi Family Courtyard. To the west lies the Imperial River Folk Street, reconstructed in an ancient style, followed by the Ancestral Hall of the An Family. After visiting the ancestral hall, visitors can board a boat to enjoy the scenery along the canal. As the boat proceeds, well-preserved sites such as the Guan Yu Temple, the Temple of Gratitude, and the Puliang Pagoda come into view.
