Hefei Yili Dairy Co., Ltd. is a holding subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd. It is located in Shuangfeng Industrial Park in Hefei, situated in the Yangtze River Delta region — one of China’s most dynamic and influential areas in terms of economic and social development. The plant serves a vast area within a 500-kilometer radius centered around Hefei, including major cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Wuhan, as well as numerous developed small and medium-sized cities across the Yangtze River Delta.

Hefei Yili Dairy Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established on August 19, 2005, with a total investment of 400 million yuan. The project is being built in two phases. The first phase began preparation on July 31, 2005, covers a total area of 400 mu, and has a construction area of over 35,000 square meters. It officially went into production in May 2006, mainly manufacturing more than 100 types of liquid milk products across eight major series, including pure milk, flavored milk, Yakult-style drinks, and breakfast milk. It also produces over 200 varieties of frozen desserts across ten major series. Once fully operational, the project is expected to achieve annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan, generate annual tax and profit contributions of 70 million yuan, and supply products to markets across East China, South China, and Central South China.

After the completion of the first phase, approximately 150,000 dairy cows will be needed, which can support 30,000 farming households in cattle rearing. Each adult dairy cow can yield an annual net income of 4,000 yuan, and the project will require the consumption of 1 million tons of crop straw feed annually, adding value to agricultural by-products through livestock digestion. In addition to bringing economic benefits to the local area, the project provides employment opportunities for 30,000 farmers. The establishment of the production base also creates over 2,000 local jobs.

The establishment and development of the Yili Group production base in Hefei will significantly boost the growth of related industries such as animal husbandry, crop farming, packaging, transportation, and retail, while accelerating the local process of agricultural industrialization. Under the new context of building a new socialist countryside, the establishment of the Yili production base in Hefei will contribute greatly to resolving the “three rural issues” (agriculture, rural areas, and farmers), using industry to drive agriculture, accelerating rural development, establishing a new urban-rural relationship, and comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society.
