Shuangheji Peasant Uprising Memorial Hall

The Shuangheji Peasant Uprising Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism attraction.

At the end of 2005, the Shuangheji Peasant Uprising Memorial Hall was completed. The site covers an area of 5 mu, with the exhibition hall occupying about 1 mu.

The memorial hall is divided into four exhibition rooms. The first room uses a combination of text and images to introduce the establishment of the Hefei North Township Party Branch of the CPC in September 1926 and the full story of the Shuangheji Peasant Uprising; the second room has a large portrait of martyr Cui Xiaozhai hanging in the center, with couplets handwritten by Cui Xiaozhai in his lifetime displayed on both sides. Below the portrait is a 10-meter-long, 1.5-meter-wide glass display cabinet that houses relics from the Shuangheji Peasant Uprising, including guns, homemade cannons, broadswords, spears, and some historical letters; the third room uses charts to illustrate the development, changes, and growth of the Party organization in the Changfeng region; the fourth room displays calligraphy works by notable individuals commemorating the North Hefei Branch and the Shuangheji Peasant Uprising.

In the courtyard in front of the memorial hall, a bronze statue of martyr Cui Xiaozhai and a “Shuangheji Peasant Uprising Memorial Monument” erected by the county government are planned to be erected in the center. The courtyard is surrounded by evergreen pine and cypress trees. To the northeast of the memorial hall, the tomb of martyr Cui Xiaozhai has been renovated.

Every year on Tomb-Sweeping Day, the anniversary of the founding of the Party, and the commemoration day of the Shuangheji Uprising, young students and Party and League members visit the site to receive revolutionary tradition education, with over 1,500 visitors received annually.
