The Lai Shaoqi Art Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Lai Shaoqi Art Museum is a publicly funded, free-access cultural facility built with an investment of 40 million yuan by the Hefei Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to develop a culturally strong city, enhance cultural taste, foster urban spirit, and showcase and promote the art of Lai Shaoqi. It was completed on December 22, 2005, and is under the administration of the Hefei Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, News and Publishing. This museum, featuring a modern design, a grand exterior, comprehensive internal functions, and advanced facilities, has become a first-class cultural celebrity memorial in China.

Lai Shaoqi is a renowned master of Chinese painting and calligraphy in contemporary times, who made tremendous contributions to the development of Anhui’s cultural and artistic endeavors and is an outstanding representative and leader of “New Huizhou School Art.” The museum houses a collection of artistic treasures and historical documents donated by Ms. Zeng Fei, including Lai Shaoqi’s prints, traditional Chinese paintings (landscapes and flowers), calligraphy, and seal engravings from various periods, in different styles and themes.

The museum is located within the scenic Art Park in the Hefei Government and Cultural New District, covering an area of 1.5 acres with a construction area of 3,200 square meters. It consists of a main building and an auxiliary building, both with two floors. The main building displays works and the life story of Mr. Lai Shaoqi, while the auxiliary building includes an internationally-standardized exhibition hall as well as reception, leisure, and office facilities.

To get to the Lai Shaoqi Art Museum, you can take bus routes 166, 162, or 156 to Lai Shaoqi Art Museum Station; route 149 to Caihong Station; or route 13 to Haiyang Station.
