Caught between the two, the number of registrants for the Southwest Division has exceeded two hundred, approaching the highest participation limit of the previous three divisions. Outdoor enthusiasts from all over the country have signed up enthusiastically. In addition to participants from Yunnan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Gansu, which border Sichuan, there are also outdoor lovers from Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and other regions. There are seasoned veterans as well as spirited post-90s newcomers. Age is not an issue, distance is not a barrier—everyone is geared up and waiting for the final departure.

Chengdu’s handsome lad “Little Frog” has led teams to summit the three main peaks of Mount Siguniang over 30 times and has trekked through the Gongga region more than 20 times. Sichuan’s renowned high-altitude support team, the Nyima Tribe, is led by “Xiangyang,” who boasts extensive high-altitude mountaineering experience as well as professional knowledge in mountaineering support, outdoor expansion, and wilderness survival. In addition to these outdoor giants, the division also features a variety of female champions. “Lazi,” a contestant from Wenzhou, Zhejiang, combines the delicate beauty of a southern girl with the boldness of a northern woman. She got into outdoor activities in 2006 and completed the three-part Taishun series trekking journey solo in April this year. “Wild Laughter Without a Trace,” a talented woman from Beijing’s largest outdoor club, Xiaoyao Outdoor, once completed a seven-day trek through the untouched land of Shennongjia and has personally experienced classic routes such as the Taibai and Wushan mountain ranges, the Three Gorges, Tibet, and Xinjiang. Such masters are too numerous to list—this battle truly proves that among the strong, there are always stronger, and every peak is higher than the last!

If I’m selected, I believe this will be the most challenging and unforgettable experience of my life,” remarked a participant who signed up for the Southwest Division.

On the mountain, you can spot rare animals living in the valley areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and find many precious Tibetan medicinal herbs. The summit of Mount Erlang is steep and narrow, resembling a castle, and is covered in snow year-round, adding to its exceptional peril. According to the organizing committee, the activity route starts from Rilong and culminates in reaching the summit of the 5,276-meter-high Mount Erlang. Along the way, participants can enjoy unique landscapes such as pristine forests, alpine meadows, and perilous snow-capped peaks. During the three-day event, the organizing committee has not only carefully arranged a welcome ceremony for the Southwest Division but also included memorable moments such as the summit challenge commemoration and the “Search for the Leaf at the Summit” photography activity. All successful summiters will have the opportunity to take a group photo at the peak of Mount Erlang, leaving an unforgettable memory in their mountaineering careers.
