Completed in 1958, it features a Soviet-style brick-concrete structure, with a construction area of 18,411.7 square meters, and is an iconic building of Anhui University.

The old library was completed in 1958, with a total area of 10,305 square meters and a frame structure. The south and north buildings have three floors, while the west building has four, and the middle section has six floors. It is well preserved. Buildings 201–204 were completed in 1958, featuring a brick-concrete structure, with a construction area of 9,992 square meters. Buildings 207–208 were also completed in 1958, featuring a brick-concrete structure, with a construction area of 5,980 square meters. Both are student dormitories.

The main teaching building is an iconic structure of Hefei in the 1950s and is the only remaining public teaching building in Anhui Province built in the Soviet architectural style. The old library and other structures with distinct period characteristics are important physical evidence for studying the urban history of Hefei and the architectural history of Anhui. The campus construction style, with the teaching building as the centerpiece, set an example for university campus development of the same era. It holds significant value in terms of cultural history, scientific research, and architectural art.

The jurisdiction includes seven resident units: Anhui University, the District Administration for Industry and Commerce, the District Epidemic Prevention Station, the District Maternal and Child Health Care Station, the City Yuejin Coal Ball Factory, Puri Eye Hospital, and BuRuQi Square, covering a total area of approximately 0.637 square kilometers.
