The Shi Family Grand Courtyard is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Shi Family Grand Courtyard is located south of downtown Tianjin, near Yangliuqing Railway Station. It was the residence of the Shi family, one of the once-wealthy "Eight Great Families" of Tianjin, built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The buildings within the courtyard are all typical northern traditional dwellings in grayish-white tones, featuring numerous exquisite stone carvings, and is known as the "Number One Mansion in North China."

The Shi Family Grand Courtyard covers a large area, over a hundred meters in both length and width, with multiple interconnected courtyards that can be visited one by one. A visit of around two hours is recommended. Here you can fully appreciate the beauty of traditional northern architecture, learn about the rise and fall of the once-prominent Shi family, and take retro-style photos.

The Shi Family Grand Courtyard is now home to the Yangliuqing Museum, so besides admiring the architecture, another highlight of visiting is exploring the exhibitions. It displays many renowned Yangliuqing New Year paintings and brick carvings, as well as folk wedding customs, clay sculptures by the "Clay Figurine Zhang," paper-cuttings, Yangliuqing kites, props for folk flower festivals, and other cultural exhibits, all of which can be viewed individually. Additionally, characteristic Yangliuqing New Year painting souvenirs are sold here, and you can purchase any that catch your eye to take home.
