Zheshan Scenic Area

Zheshan Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Zheshan Scenic Area is located in Jinghu District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. Ancient people praised Zheshan as the “majestic mountain” of the river city, and it has long been honored with titles such as “Jade Peak” and “Hundred-Foot Pagoda,” regarded as a symbol of Wuhu. It is said that a mountain need not be high to be famous if it is home to immortals. Zheshan boasts “flowers that bloom all year round and trees that remain green throughout the seasons.” Since ancient times, it has attracted visitors with its unique charm, and many scholars and celebrities throughout history have climbed Zheshan, leaving behind numerous well-known poems and essays.

Although not very high, Zheshan offers the best vantage point to overlook the river city of Wuhu. Legend has it that Ganjiang forged swords nearby, and the furnace fire dyed the mountain a reddish hue, hence its name. The famous Song Dynasty calligrapher Huang Tingjian also once lived here. The scenic area is now a national 4A-level tourist attraction.

Within the planned land area of Zheshan Park, a 10-acre plot has been allocated for water area expansion, connecting it to the existing water body to form a water landscape belt of over 20 acres. At the same time, a retaining wall on the western side of Little Zheshan, about 10 meters high and 70 meters long, has been transformed into an artificial waterfall.
