Wuhu Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

Wuhu Martyrs' Cemetery is located at the eastern foothills of the urban area, adjacent to the scenic Shen Shan Forest Park. Covering an area of 66 mu (approximately 4.4 hectares), it is divided into four main functional areas: the Monument and Tomb Memorial Area, the Revolutionary Martyrs' Deeds Exhibition Hall, the Central Plaza, and the Reception and Administrative Office Area.

To commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, in May 1949, the newly established Wuhu Municipal People's Government designated a woodland on the northern foothills of Shen Shan as a “Revolutionary Soldiers’ Cemetery.” In April 1953, the cemetery was officially designated as a burial site for revolutionary martyrs and deceased servicemen, making it one of the earlier revolutionary memorial structures in Anhui Province. In August 1992, the “Wuhu Martyrs' Cemetery Management Office” was formally established. In April 1994, the first phase of the martyrs' cemetery project was completed, which included a 20.25-meter-high herringbone-shaped monument and martyr tombs. The tombs house the ashes of 39 martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives during different revolutionary periods. In March 2005, planning began for the second phase of the project, which included a 1,600-square-meter Martyrs' Exhibition Hall, a 1,200-square-meter Central Plaza, and a 200-square-meter lecture hall. On July 1, 2006, the new exhibition hall was officially opened to the public. The hall displays, through 154 exhibition panels and 70 physical relics (personal effects), the stories of 73 of the most notable martyrs among the 1,370 martyrs from Wuhu who sacrificed their lives either in Wuhu or elsewhere, from the founding period of the Party to after the establishment of New China.
