The Site of the Former Wuhu Model Prison is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Site of the Former Wuhu Model Prison was built in the seventh year of the Republic of China (1918). Initially established as the Second Provincial Prison of Anhui Province, it was the most fully equipped and technologically advanced prison in Anhui at the time. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Japanese army installed a well frame and water dungeon within the prison. After the liberation, it became the First Provincial Prison of Anhui Province and was decommissioned around 1965.

The Model Prison is a large-scale architectural complex laid out in a cross shape centered around a "cross" building, covering an area of 3,389.11 square meters. To the east of the prison, there is also a guardhouse, which is a two-story brick-concrete structure covering an area of 162.13 square meters. The Wuhu Model Prison is one of the few model prisons actually built in China, reflecting the development of modern prison systems and serving as historical evidence for studying the political, economic, and legal conditions of the time. It is an important resource for researching the history of China’s legal system.
