Spanning the Fengle River in Yansi Town, it is commonly known as the “Lower Ferry Bridge.” It earned this name as it marks the lower crossing among the three river crossings of Fengxi, starting from Yingshan. Originally, people crossed by bamboo raft, then a wooden bridge was built but frequently destroyed by floods. In the ninth year of the Hongzhi reign during the Ming Dynasty (1496), a local man named Sun Shiquan donated funds to replace it with a stone bridge. Built with red-purple stone, it features nine arches, has a total length of 110 meters, is 15 meters wide, and about 10 meters high. The original bridge had over 40 covered walkways, with shops lining the left side and “flying chairs” on the right for pedestrians to rest. It was severely damaged twice by floods during the Kangxi and Yongzheng reigns, leaving residents struggling to cross for five or six years. In the first year of the Yongzheng reign (1723), the Cheng family of Yanzhen raised hundreds of thousands of coins and spent nine years rebuilding it. Although everything was newly constructed, the original name was retained. In 1935, with the completion of the Qingtun Highway, it was converted into a highway bridge.
