She Weng Bridge

Situated about 500 meters downstream from Sun Gong Bridge in Yansi Town over the Fengle River, commonly known as "Ta Xia Qiao," it connects to Wenji Mountain in the south and reaches Xiaoyao Embankment in the north. Constructed from red-purple stone, it features seven arches, spans roughly 120 meters in length, and rises about 13 meters in height. It was entirely funded and built by local benefactor She Wenyi in the 15th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1536). Originally, ornamental columns stood at either end of the bridge, and a seven-room pavilion was built in the middle—below serving as a shelter for rest, and above functioning as a shrine for deities. The structure was surrounded by covered walkways, offering scenic views. However, it was soon destroyed by arson and was never rebuilt. During the Wanli and Kangxi eras, it was repaired and reconstructed by the She family. This bridge, along with the Wenfeng Pagoda, Fengshan Terrace, and Changtan Mountain, was celebrated as the brush, inkstone, paper, and desk. On July 5, 1969, it was washed away by a catastrophic flood. To facilitate cross-river traffic, in 1987, the government allocated funds to build a reinforced concrete highway bridge about 100 meters upstream. It now serves as a major transport route between She County and Huangshan and is currently called "Wenfeng Bridge."
