Xinfu Bridge

Located in Qiankeng Village, Qiankou Town, it was an ancient transportation hub connecting She County to Huangshan and Taiping. Built in the fifth year of the Ming Dynasty’s Chenghua era (1469), it is a single-arch bridge constructed from purple sandstone, spanning a small stream from north to south. It is 6.9 meters long, 4.2 meters wide, and 3.5 meters high. On the upstream side of the arch, there is an embedded plaque inscribed with “Xinfu Bridge,” “Fourth Day of the Ninth Month of the Fifth Year of Chenghua, Master Craftsman Zhan Yiwen,” and “Wang Zongqin, Devotee of Ning Society, Heheli, Hemo Township, Qianchuan Bao, Qiankou,” among other inscriptions. The bridge features a covered corridor; the western side is enclosed and houses a shrine for Buddha worship, while the eastern side is furnished with “flying chairs” for travelers to rest. On the northern bank, inside the corridor on the west wall, there is an embedded stone stele inscribed with the “Prohibitory Ordinance of the Circuit Tribunal,” erected in the second year of the Tianqi era (1622).
