White Goose Ridge

Introduction Located at the easternmost part of the North Sea Scenic Area, the ridge features the 701 TV Tower atop, standing like a landmark between the mountain and the clouds. There is a steep stone staircase of over 400 steps leading down from the southern side of the ridge, commonly known as the “Four Hundred Steps,” which takes you to Yungu Temple, the lower station of the Yungu Cable Car. Along the Yungu Cable Car route, at the scenic spot called “Magpie on Plum Blossom,” there is a “Plum Pine,” listed as a World Heritage site. The pine resembles an ancient plum tree, and beside it is a uniquely shaped rock that looks like a magpie. Together, the pine and rock form a picturesque scene. On the way from White Goose Ridge to the 701 TV Station, there is a pine tree that stands tall like a green peacock, with one branch curving toward White Goose Ridge, resembling the peacock lifting its head. Several branches behind it resemble the tail and wings of the peacock, making the entire shape look like a peacock about to fly southeast. Hence the name “Peacock Pine,” also listed as a World Heritage site.
