2016The Huangshan Taihu Lake Triathlon International Elite Race will6be held in10June11in Huangshan. Currently, preparations for the event have entered the final month of intensive work. Organizers, considering the unique characteristics of the race — especially the running segment featuring an uphill course through the mountainous terrain of Huangshan Scenic Area — have made comprehensive preparations and contingency plans in advance, striving to deliver a perfect and distinctive racing experience for all participants.
It is reported that the competition will be held over two days.6On June1011, the National Triathlon Points Race will take place, covering a full distance of51.5kilometers.6On June1114, the Triathlon International Elite Race will be held, covering a full distance of113kilometers, including1.9kilometers of swimming,90kilometers of cycling, and21.1kilometers of running. This national points race is jointly organized by the Chinese Triathlon Association, the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Huangshan Municipal People’s Government, while the international elite race is hosted by the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau and the Huangshan Municipal People’s Government. Both events are organized by the Huangshan Scenic Area Management Committee, the Huangshan District People’s Government, the Huangshan Municipal Sports Bureau, the Taihu Lake Scenic Area Management Committee, and the Huangshan Extreme Culture & Sports Communication Co., Ltd., with Country Garden as the exclusive title sponsor.
Officials from the organizing committee stated that ensuring adequate support is the top priority for this competition. Currently, the overall safety measures for the event have fully entered the implementation phase.
6On June1120, the113kilometer long-distance triathlon race will feature, for the first time in a domestic triathlon event, a specially designed mountainous running segment. The elevation change on this section will also set a record for the highest altitude variation in a Chinese triathlon. After completing a1.9kilometer swim and a90kilometer bike ride, athletes will then tackle a2000meters. This will undoubtedly present new challenges in terms of physical exertion and mental endurance.
In response to the unique demands of this segment, the organizing committee consulted multiple outdoor sports experts and race organizers, made several adjustments and revisions to the course, and invited male and female athletes of varying skill levels across the nation to test the route. Based on data collected during these tests, the committee further refined certain design elements to ensure the rationality of the course layout and the scientific basis of the support system.21kilometer run that includes climbing sections within Huangshan Scenic Area, amounting to a cumulative elevation gain of
7kilometer mountainous running course places high demands on athletes’ physical capabilities. Sports experts have also anticipated possible physiological and psychological issues athletes might face during this section, offering well-considered advice for all potential scenarios. Experts recommend that participants approach such races rationally, distribute their energy wisely during the event, pay close attention to nutrition, prioritize safety, and constantly monitor their own physical condition throughout the race to prevent accidents.
4and early5, two specialized preparatory meetings were held to conduct in-depth discussions from multiple dimensions including event management, media coverage, traffic safety, information technology, food hygiene, medical rescue, security, and logistics support. Detailed implementation plans were formulated. At the same time, various working groups were established, with clearly defined responsibilities and timelines assigned to each member unit, ensuring accountability and thorough execution at all levels to guarantee comprehensive support.
Currently, all related implementation work for the event has commenced. Moving forward, the organizing committee will develop detailed plans for personnel, materials, and operational support. Additionally, in anticipation of possible sports injuries and safety incidents, corresponding professional medical personnel and equipment will be deployed, along with emergency response plans, to ensure that safety personnel can respond to unexpected situations immediately.
As Country Garden ·2016The title sponsor of the annual Huangshan Taihu Lake Triathlon International Elite Competition, Country Garden Group, has also paid close attention to and provided strong support for the safety measures of this event. In collaboration with relevant departments of the organizing committee, they strive to present a high-level competition with the theme “Tempered in Fire, Pushing the Limits of Nature.” As of press time, the registration process for this race has been completed, with a total of600participants registered.
