Yungu Cableway

The Yungu Cableway was first built in December 2006 and began trial operations in September 2007. With a total length of 2,666 meters, it currently features the world’s most advanced single-loop detachable grip cabin cableway system. The cableway starts from the northern side of the Yungu Scenic Area and ascends to the northeastern side of Bai’e Ridge, covering an elevation difference of 775 meters.

The cableway has a total of 69 passenger cabins, each capable of carrying 8 people. It operates at a maximum speed of 6 meters per second, with a one-way transport capacity of up to 2,000 passengers per hour. There are 14 support towers along the route.

The main mechanical and electrical equipment of the cableway were imported from leading cableway manufacturers in Japan and Austria, ensuring smooth operation, passenger comfort, and a high level of safety.

Riding in the cable car as it soars through the clouds allows visitors to enjoy the stunning beauty of Huangshan Mountain from various perspectives. Along the way, you can gaze upon numerous scenic spots such as Tiandu Peak, Lotus Peak, Buddha’s Palm Peak, Heavenly Dog Watching the Moon, Sheep Crossing the River, Immortals Sailing the Sea, and Gourd Stone. The cable car glides through this ethereal landscape, as if floating in a fairyland—take your time to admire and savor the view.

Safe, comfortable, and fast, the Yungu Cableway has attracted tens of thousands of domestic and international tourists who come specifically to experience it. As they travel through the misty peaks, visitors delight in the breathtaking scenery along the route, feeling as though they are wandering between heaven and earth. To this day, the Yungu Cableway has been in operation for a full 20 years.
