There is a scenic pavilion by the path on the east side of the Flying-over Stone. Not far beyond the pavilion, standing on the flat terrace above the “Twin Dragon Pine,” you can see a huge steep cliff rising sharply on the opposite peak. When you shout loudly facing the cliff, the echo reverberates through the valley and lingers without end—hence the name “Echo Wall.” This is the best spot in the mountain to experience an echo. Below this spot lies the Baiyun Grand Canyon, which is as deep as a hundred meters, and right in front is the sheer cliff. If visitors shout here, their voices will bounce back from the mountain walls and the deep valley, creating continuous echoes that bring wonder and endless delight. This naturally formed echo wall, in terms of its vast space, great distance, and echo effect, is something that no man-made echo wall could ever match.
