Shicuifeng Peak

Introduction According to the Huangshan Zhi Dingben (Definitive Annals of Huangshan) from the 18th year of the Kangxi reign (1679), there is a stone bed on the summit, measuring 13 chi in length and 5 chi in width, carved as if from white jade, smooth as a whetstone—suitable for walking, resting, sitting, or lying. There are also three purple stone beds and three jasper pillows, said to be the resting place of the immortals Rongcheng and Fuxiu when they accompanied the Yellow Emperor. The peak thus earned the name Shicuifeng (Stone Bed Peak), and is one of the 36 major peaks, with an elevation of 1,574 meters. Below the peak lies a stone chamber about 30 meters deep, commonly known as “Guanyin Cliff,” which contains a rock formation called “Guanyin in Meditation.”
