Book Box Peak
Introduction: Book Box Peak is located in the northern part of Huangshan Mountain, near Rooster Peak, and stands opposite Pagoda Peak across a valley. It is one of the 36 smaller peaks, with an elevation of 1,386 meters. The crevices in the cliff face resemble an ancient scholar’s book box, hence the name. A poem praises it: “A peculiar peak, blocky as a book box, holds ten thousand scrolls of heavenly scripture within. Alas, the Buddhist monks fail to recognize it, leaving it hanging high on the ridge for a thousand autumns.”
