Huangshan Folk Art MuseumThe Huangshan Folk Art Museum, whose name was inscribed by the renowned Chinese painter Mr. Li Junqi, is located in Huangshan District, Anhui Province, China. Situated on the golden tourist route connecting Huangshan, Taihu Lake, and Jiuhua Mountain, it is a folk art exhibition hall of considerable scale and high taste, painstakingly built by Mr. Ding Rifang over more than 20 years through dedicated effort in collecting and organizing.

The Huangshan Folk Art Museum is a classic example of Huizhou-style architecture from Huangshan, covering an area of over 2,000 square meters. Its collection is rich and diverse, divided into sections such as celebrity calligraphy and paintings, Ming and Qing furniture, antiques and relics, Huizhou’s “Three Carvings,” the Four Treasures of the Study, jade, pearls, crystal ornaments, handicrafts, and travel souvenirs. The museum houses representative artifacts from various periods, ranging from the Neolithic Age, Shang, Zhou, Han, Wei, and Six Dynasties, down to the Ming, Qing, and Republican eras. These include Neolithic stone tools, bronze ware from the Three Dynasties and the Spring and Autumn & Warring States periods; exquisitely smooth ancient jade, emerald-green jadeite; a dazzling array of ancient ceramics; simple yet elegant purple clay pottery; a large collection of calligraphy and paintings from ancient and modern masters; antique furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties; various inscriptions, ancient coins, as well as magical wood, stone, bamboo, brick, and root carvings. Truly, it is a place that nurtures the joy of collecting and cultivates noble sentiment.

“Bringing the ancient and modern together to broaden horizons, appreciating culture and objects to nourish the soul.” The museum’s opening to the public has greatly enriched the tourism culture of the Huangshan region and has become an ideal destination for both domestic and international visitors, as well as local residents, to relax, shop, sightsee, and learn about the history, culture, ancient sites (relics), and antiques—especially those of the Huangshan area.
