Xian’ge Li Covered Bridge
The Xian’ge Li Covered Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.
The Xian’ge Li Covered Bridge was built during the Ming Dynasty, 0—during the Qing Dynasty, and is the only well-preserved covered bridge in Huangshan District. The structure consists of a two-story building with one bay and three openings, measuring 13 meters in width, 6 meters in depth, and 7 meters in height, covering a floor area of 66.825 square meters. Below it is a stone arch bridge that is 2 meters high, 4 meters long, and 6 meters wide. The pavilion faces the southeast, with a巷棚 (covered alleyway) featuring a flush-gable roof style, flanked by fire walls on both sides. The main building has one bay and three openings, with a wooden frame using a post-and-lintel structure, built from dark blue stones from Yi County and round columns with square beams. There are no internal partitions; the exterior walls are coated with lime. The second floor has three rooms separated by partitions in the middle. The Guanyin Pavilion is the only well-preserved classical structure in Huangshan District that combines a covered bridge and a Buddhist pavilion on a bridge. Its exterior appears as a two-story brick-and-wood building. On the east side stand three stone steles that document the historical merits of road construction, bridge repair, and water conservancy projects at the time, making it of significant historical research value for studying the local culture and history.
