Zhihuan Mountain Villa

Zhihuan Mountain Villa is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Anhui Province.

Zhihuan Mountain Villa is located in Goucun Village, Gengcheng Town, Huangshan District

It was built by Tan Zhiping, a local Huizhou merchant. Construction began in the 9th year of the Republic of China (1920) and was completed in the 16th year (1927). The villa features gardens, courtyards, ponds, and more. The main building has a Spanish architectural style on the exterior and incorporates elements of Huizhou-style architecture on the interior. It is a rectangular two-story structure facing south, measuring 12.8 meters in width, 24 meters in depth, and 12 meters in height. The building covers a construction area of 614 square meters.

Protected area: 10 meters east of the surrounding courtyard wall, 10 meters south, 20 meters west, 8 meters at the northwest corner, and 20 meters north.

Construction control zone: 30 meters beyond the protected area in all directions—east, south, west, and north.

Goucun Village: Goucun Village in Gengcheng Town is located at the northern foot of Huangshan Mountain, at the northern entrance to the mountain. The village covers a total area of 17.23 square kilometers, with 1,700 mu of arable land and a total forested mountain area of 21,000 mu, including over 2,200 mu of reclaimed farmland returned to forest, resulting in a forest coverage rate of 90%. The village consists of 10 villager groups and one village-run forest farm, with over 600 households and a total population of 1,832.
