The Su Clan Ancestral Hall and Haining Academy

The Su Clan Ancestral Hall and Haining Academy are cultural heritage sites protected at the provincial level in Anhui Province.

The Su Clan Ancestral Hall and Haining Academy are located in Lingxia Village, Yongfeng Township, Huangshan District, Huangshan City.

The Su Clan Ancestral Hall was originally built in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties and was reconstructed during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. The hall has three courtyards, with a depth of 38 meters and a width of 15.3 meters. The front gate hall is designed in the style of a Five Phoenix Tower, with intricately carved wooden components under the eaves featuring figures, landscapes, pavilions, and towers; the carvings are exquisitely detailed. The second courtyard features landscape murals on both side walls and four large black-lacquered characters representing "Loyalty," "Filial Piety," "Chastity," and "Righteousness." The third courtyard’s bedroom hall is fronted by a stone railing that connects to the steps on both sides, including seven bluestone relief balustrade panels and eight stone lion pillar ornaments. The ancestral hall is now largely well-preserved.
