Ningbo Urban Agricultural Park

Ningbo Urban Agricultural Park is located in Hongtang Town, Jiangbei District, Ningbo. It was formerly the city’s “High-Quality, High-Yield, High-Efficiency” comprehensive agricultural development demonstration zone. After several years of development, it has now become a national-level comprehensive agricultural development technology promotion demonstration project and a municipal-level agricultural science and technology park. On March 1, 2002, it became a Zhejiang Provincial Agricultural High-Tech Demonstration Park.

The park integrates agricultural production, technological demonstration, science education, and leisure tourism. It features attractions such as a leisure botanical garden, fruit and vegetable picking garden, Holiday Hongtang Resort, fishing park, Phalaenopsis greenhouse, and student practice base. Among these, the glass greenhouses, multi-span greenhouses, and single-span greenhouses—covering nearly 100 acres—are filled with blooming flowers. The Phalaenopsis garden introduced in 2002 is the city’s largest and earliest tropical orchid cultivation base. The Space Breeding Exhibition Hall, Youth Green School, Adventure Center handicraft workshop, student experimental fields, and water amusement bridges serve as excellent venues for middle school students’ social practice and science education training, capable of accommodating up to 500 students for a one-week social practice program.

Relying on the scientific and technological resources of research institutions and universities, the park strengthens the development of modern agriculture and the introduction and promotion of advanced agricultural technologies. It fully leverages functions such as modern agricultural demonstration, scientific research, science education, and leisure tourism. It serves as a base for introducing, testing, demonstrating, and promoting the city’s premium, unique, and rare agricultural varieties, high-tech solutions, new facilities, and new machinery. It is also a base for agricultural talent cultivation, a research and practice site for agricultural research institutions and universities, a science education base for primary and secondary school students, and one of the New Ten Scenic Spots of Ningbo.
