The Gate with the Character "Fu" is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangbei District.

The Gate with the Character "Fu"

The Gate with the Character "Fu" is located at No. 7, Jinjiajing Lane, Cicheng. The overall structure consists of, in sequence, a main gate, a second gate (now destroyed), a screen wall, the gate to the inner courtyard, a front hall, and two five-bay, two-wing rooms in both the front and rear sections, along with left and right wing rooms. It covers a construction area of 1,086 square meters and a site area of 1,089 square meters. Originally, it was part of the residence of Feng Shují, the Hu Guang Provincial Administration Commissioner during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era. The front hall has five bays and uses nine purlins, with cruciform brackets on the column tops and small chamfered front eave columns. The lower edges of the pillar bases are round-tongued, featuring characteristics of the Ming Dynasty. A large character "Fu" (meaning "blessing") is inscribed in the center of the screen wall of the second gate, hence the name "The Gate with the Character 'Fu'."
