The Feng Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Jiangbei District.

Feng Residence

This residence was built roughly in the late Qianlong period and remains relatively well-preserved to this day. The main gate faces east and is a traditional house-style entrance gate. On the right side of the gate, there is a large stone lattice window with the Chinese character “禄” (meaning “prosperity”) embedded in the gable wall. Entering through the gate leads to an alleyway, a long and narrow courtyard, and a brick screen wall facing the entrance. To the north of the alleyway is a three-bay, two-alleyway side hall, with the central bay featuring a post-and-lintel roof structure. To the south of the alleyway is a traditional three-sided courtyard compound, where the brick carvings preserved on the two gate towers and the screen wall are in excellent condition. The bracket sets are constructed with regular craftsmanship, and the decorative motifs are simple, reflecting architectural features typical of the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong era.
