The Baziqiao Site

The Baziqiao Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Baziqiao Site was discovered in March 1976 during the excavation of a canal, unearthing a large number of pottery fragments, stone tools, wooden piles, rice grains, red burnt soil, and animal bones. The city archaeological institute has conducted three surveys at this site.

The Baziqiao Site is located in Bazicun Village, Miaoshan, south of the Qiantang River and north of the Yuyao River. Nine kilometers to the south is the Hemudu Site, 23 kilometers to the east is downtown Ningbo, and it is surrounded by Golden Mountain and Ruanjia Mountain to the northwest. The artifacts found at this site correspond to the first and second cultural layers of the Hemudu Site.
