The former residence of Guan Linzheng is located at No. 95 Changsha Road, Heping District. This house is an English-style courtyard building constructed with brick and wood. It covers a site area of 1,608 square meters and a construction area of 2,708 square meters, with a spacious yard. The property includes one main building, one auxiliary building, and one rear building. The main building has three floors, faces southwest, and features a distinctive semicircular side on one of its facades. The rooms inside the building are spacious and bright, with exquisite decorations. The first floor houses a living room, dining room, and study. The Buddhist shrine is located at the corner between the first and second floors, with windows facing northeast and covering an area of over twenty square meters. The rooms on the second and third floors are larger and mainly consist of bedrooms and studies. The auxiliary building has slightly smaller rooms and features red brick exposed walls. A terrace connects the main building and the rear building. The yard contains lawns, flower beds, and a fishpond. Currently, the building is used by the Heping District Housing Authority and is listed as an immovable cultural relic in Tianjin that has not yet been officially designated as a protected cultural heritage site.

Guan Linzheng (1905–1980), originally named Zhidao and styled Yudong, was born on April 18, 1905, in Huxian County, Shaanxi Province. He was a Lieutenant General in the Nationalist Army. In 1938, during the bloody Battle of Taierzhuang, the 52nd Army of the Nationalist forces, which was tasked with attacking the Japanese invaders, was hailed by military commentators both domestically and internationally as the "Guan Iron Fist"—with "Guan" referring to then-Army Commander Guan Linzheng.

Guan Linzheng came from a farming family with a tradition of both farming and scholarship, and his family was poor.
