A female hiker suddenly collapsed at the 2.1K point of the Heping District’s Maa-Xinsan Line Trail in Taichung City today. The Taichung City Fire Bureau responded to the incident and transported the hiker to the hospital for medical treatment around 2 p.m.
The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report at 10:40 a.m. stating that a female hiker near the 2.1K mark of the Maa-Xinsan Line Trail was feeling unwell and had collapsed. She was accompanied by her husband, who stayed at the scene waiting for help.
As it was already raining in the mountainous area at the time, the fire bureau said that upon reaching the site, rescuers assessed the hiker’s condition and decided to secure her in a basket stretcher using ropes. They then transported her to the trailhead using a wheelbarrow before sending her to Dongshi Farmers’ Hospital by ambulance. 1050828
