The former residence of Eric Liddell is located at No. 38 Chongqing Road, Heping District. After getting married in 1934, he lived in this building continuously.

Eric Liddell (1902–1945), originally named Eric Henry Liddell, adopted the Chinese name 李爱悦. He was of Scottish descent from Britain. A Olympic world champion born in Tianjin, Eric Liddell was born in 1902 at the Maternity Hospital (now the Stomatological Hospital) in Tianjin. In 1907, he returned to Britain for his education. At the 8th Summer Olympics held in Paris in 1924, he won the 400-meter race and broke the world record, becoming a renowned sports star in Britain.
